Key Points of Contact Roles

The district executive is the local Scouting professional responsible for overall support of the area. If there is a need and/or concern or simply have a question or need additional information or support, you cannot go wrong by contacting your district executive.

The district chairman is the lead volunteer for the district. This role leads a committee of volunteers who support the overall functioning and programs in the area through committees such as program, advancement, membership, and finance.

The district commissioner is responsible for the commissioner staff serving the area. The commissioner’s staff is responsible for all “hands-on” support for the programs and volunteers. The volunteers are also responsible and assist with the annual rechartering process for the programs in the district.

The district’s direct manager (field director, district director, or director of field services) is the next level of support beyond the district executive. This is the direct supervisor for the district executive and is equally a great contact.
