Key Points of Contact Roles

The district executive is the local Scouting professional that is responsible for the overall support for the area. If there is a need and/or concern or simply have a question or need additional information or support, you cannot go wrong by contacting your district executive.

The district chairman is the lead volunteer for the district. This role leads a committee comprised of volunteers that are here to support the overall functioning and support of the programs in the area through various committee such as program, advancement, membership, and finance.

The district commissioner is responsible for the commissioner staff serving the area. The commissioner’s staff is responsible for all “hands-on” support for the programs and volunteers. The volunteers are also responsible and assist with the annual rechartering process for the programs in the district.

The direct manager (field director, district director, or director of field services) for the district is the next level of support beyond the district executive. This is the direct supervisor for the district executive and is equally a great contact.

The district roundtable meeting is for all adult volunteers. The roundtables are meant to be an informative and resource driven meeting to support volunteers in a meaningful way. Volunteers will walk away with helpful information and ideas to support your programs. You will also learn of upcoming events, training, and other important timely information to assist you as a volunteer in strengthening your program.

The district committee meeting is for the committee of volunteers led by the district chairman to support the district. If you are interested in serving on this committee or you need additional support from this committee, please contact the district chairman or executive (contact information above).

The commissioner staff meeting is similar to the district committee meeting and is led by the district commissioner and is attended by the district’s commissioner staff. At this meeting, a discussion is held about units that need additional support and develop strategies to assist. If your program needs assistance, please contact the district commissioner or executive.
