Invite New Families to Experience the Adventure of Scouts BSA This Fall

Fall is a great time for your troop to welcome new Scouts and families! Hosting a fun, hands-on recruiting event helps introduce the excitement and values of Scouts BSA in a memorable way.

To attract the most attention, plan your event in a visible location within your community such as a local park, town square, or community center. Being out in the public eye helps spark curiosity and makes it easy for families to stop by and learn more.

Ideas for a successful fall recruiting event include:

• Mock campsites to demonstrate outdoor living and gear
• Outdoor cooking demonstrations (and maybe a taste test!)
• Simple pioneering projects like flagpoles or gateways
• Inflatable BB ranges for safe, supervised marksmanship
• Other interactive activities that reflect Scouting skills, leadership, and teamwork

These events offer a relaxed, engaging environment where families can get a feel for the program and meet your troop. A little preparation goes a long way in creating a welcoming experience that encourages youth to join the adventure.
