The Scouting America designates April as Safeguarding Youth Month for councils, units, families, and community organizations. It’s a great time to remind those around you about the importance of taking this critical training and keeping it up to date. Here are a few things you can do to help highlight Safeguarding Youth this month in your unit.
- Ensure your training is current and encourage others to do so. During April, the Lincoln Heritage Council will offer two free youth protection training courses. See below for more information.
- Link your member profile to your My.Scouting.org training profile. Learn more.
- Learn about the Safeguarding Youth Champion program and recruit a volunteer to fill this role. Learn more.
- Don’t be a bystander; learn how to stand up to bullying. Learn more.
