Adventure Camp

Adventure Camp is a day camp style program hosted at Camp Crooked Creek in Shepherdsville, Kentucky for students with special needs from around the area. Schools from Southern Indiana, Louisville, and the surrounding counties send classes to come out and experience camp for a day with activities including fishing, arts and crafts, pontoon boating, BB guns, archery, canoeing, and more!
The objective of camp is to assist children with special needs to develop social, personal, and self-concept skills to help them achieve greater self-sufficiency and life skills.
Activities Include: Pontoon Boat Rides, Canoes, Fishing, Arts & Crafts, BB Guns, Archery, Silent Disco/Music, Dance Therapy, Bubble Bug/Multi-sensory Station, and Hiking.
Looking to help make a huge difference in the lives of some extraordinary kids? Volunteers at Adventure Camp will make dreams come true for hundreds of children with special needs. Any adult, aged 18 or older, can volunteer at Adventure Camp! There are no special skills or pre-requisites required. Volunteers are needed to perform a wide variety of program support. Assignments can include face painting, rowing a canoe, ensuring safety, assisting with arts and craft kits, help with baiting a hook, and making sure life jackets are securely fastened. Volunteers can sign up from one day or more!
