District Award of Merit
The District Award of Merit is a council award presented by districts in the same manner that the Silver Beaver is a national award presented by councils. The award is available to Scouters who render service of an outstanding nature at the district. The award is made available annually on the basis of 1 for each 25 traditional units or fraction thereof. The district need not present all the awards to which is entitled each year. It is not appropriate to nominate a Scouter who has already received this award. A professional Scouter or other council employee may not receive award based on employment service. However, a professional Scouter or employee who serves as a volunteer Scouter may be eligible, based on volunteer service. District Award of Merit Nomination Form
The President’s Award is an award presented to individuals in recognition of outstanding service rendered to Scouting at the District and/or Council levels. This can be through support of activities, events, or programs requiring effort and involvement beyond the unit level. President’s or Buckskin Award Nomination Form
The Buckskin Award is an award presented to individuals in recognition of outstanding service rendered to Scouting at the Unit level. This recognition is designed to be given to those who show support to the program beyond the normal scope of the position of their prime registration.
A limited number of Silver Beaver awards are made each year. The Silver Beaver recognizes adult volunteers for exceptional service to Scouting at the council level.
The Lincoln Heritage Council is pleased to announce the Silver Beaver Class of 2017. The Silver Beaver is the highest award a Council can bestow upon a volunteer for outstanding service to the Council and the youth that it serves. This outstanding group of Scouters have given their time, talent and treasure to the Council and have not gone unnoticed. The awards will be presented at the annual Council Recognition Dinner.
