Annual First Class Banquet Scheduled for October 19. Senator Parrett to be Guest Speaker

The rank of First Class Scout is a significant achievement in a young Scout’s career. History shows that if a Scout completes the requirement for First Class within 18 months of joining Scouts, he is more likely to stay in Scouting and strive for the Eagle Scout rank. Therefore, it is critical for us to encourage our Scouts to work toward this goal. To help honor these Scouts for this important achievement, we have provided the Annual First Class Banquet.

On Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 6:30pm EST, the annual First Class Banquet will be held at White Mills Christian Camp (154 Old KY Hwy 84, White Mills, KY). This banquet honors all Scouts who achieved First Class Rank between September 1, 2016 and August 31, 2017. These Scouts will be guests of the banquet (no charge) of the Awsu Netopolis Chapter of the Order of the Arrow Lodge.  Two adults, parents or Adult Leaders may attend at a cost of $5.00 per person per Scout. Others may attend at the cost of $10.00 per person.

Reservations must be made to Ron Heller, Chapter Advisor and District Camping Chairman, by Friday, October 13, 2017. Payment must accompany the reservation form. A $5 late fee is will required for all reservations after October 13, 2017. Registrations may be mailed to: First Class Banquet, PO Box 113 White Mills, KY 42788-0113. Contact Mr. Heller for more information at 270-862-9828 or If you are an OA Member and want to come help serve, please contact Mr. Ron as well!

Youth Protection Training is a mandatory training for all leaders in Scouting. We hold both Youth Protection Training and Venturing Youth Protection Training each month at Roundtable beginning at 6pm. Your Unit will not be able to recharter without 100% Youth Protection Trained adults.

Youth Protection Training is critical in the Boy Scouts of America. It serves as the front-line defense against verbal, physical, and emotional abuse in our organization. It also serves as an educational tool for volunteers and staff, teaching best practices.
