Friends of Scouting

The Boy Scouts of America has a proven track record of shaping youth into people of outstanding character.  People who understand the meaning of accountability and the importance of Servant Leadership.  On #GivingTuesday, November 29th  you can help support the development of the youth in BSA by donating to the Lincoln Heritage Council of the BSA, which is this area's Council.  Your donation will be an investment in the Boy Scouts of America that creates opportunities for youth to gain memorable experiences and be instilled with values, principles, and skills that will help them develop into the future leaders of our nation.  By investing $190 in Scouting, you will have a profound impact on each youth that belongs to the Boy Scouts of America. Your support will provide our local troops with program supplies for youth activities, volunteer training, camps and service center maintenance, and scholarships.

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of the social media and is observed on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday.  #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end of-year-giving.  You can be a part of this annual event by giving to the local Lincoln Heritage Council of the Boy Scouts of America. You can donate from the Council website or text SCOUT to 41444 and make an investment.

Please consider a donation to the Lincoln Heritage Council of the Boy Scouts of America on November 29th or any day this year when you have the opportunity.  If you have any questions, please contact Rick Reeve, Sr. Development Director 502.400.5558.

2016 Friends of Scouting (FOS)

In every District, the planning and execution of our council’s Family FOS Campaign is underway. What is this? Why is it important? Why should you care? These are questions that the FOS presentation itself answers. This is why we strive to conduct a presentation at EVERY Scouting program. We want every Scouting family to have an opportunity to learn and contribute.

There is of course a $ goal for our Family FOS Campaign of $245,000. Last year with the support of our families’ we exceeded our goal of $222,000.

Family FOS is one of the foundations of our local Scouting’s support. Scouting’s volunteer leaders are some of the most passionate and selfless. It is often these same leaders that not only help us schedule and conduct these presentations, but they also give generously to the campaign. This is not surprising. Those that believe in Scouting often contribute with their time, talent, and also their treasure.

We need our families that BELIEVE and SUPPORT Scouting to participate and consider a personal contribution to FOS in 2016.

We would like to schedule a presentation in every Scouting program to provide every family the opportunity to contribute. Our council’s Camps, Scout Service Center & Shops, Summer Camps, Day Camps, Financial Assistance Programs, Adult and Youth Trainings, Scouting for Special Needs, & Disabilities Programs, and every other Scouting program and young person we serve is dependent on the support of FOS

We need to not only sustain, but with our families support of FOS grow every aspect of Scouting in 2016!

Annually our council is regarded nationally as one of the strongest and most viable within the Scouting program. Serving 64 counties touching 4 states our Council’s Friends of Scouting Campaign is a driving force as the single largest source of revenue for our Council Operations. From our 5 Scout Shop locations, 4 council camps, adult leader trainings, summer camps, and special events/activities for our Scouts - your direct support is the single largest contributor in our Council’s budget. Larger than United Way, Popcorn, Camp Card Sales, and Camping/Activity revenue.

This support is needed in 2016 to help us be even more successful and your unit’s participation is appreciated.

In 2016 our Council will provide every Scouting unit that supports, schedules, conducts, and contributes to Family FOS FREE BADGES OF RANK for your youth. Also, our Troops supporting FOS will have their Eagle kits provided at a 50% discount.

We would like every unit to designate a FOS coordinator to work with us to make sure the presentation works within your meeting schedule and is the best it can beIf you have not scheduled your presentation please contact your District Executive/Scout Office or CLICK HERE TO SCHEDULE USING AN ONLINE FORM.

New in 2016 an option to contribute to FOS using your phone!
