LHC TO HOST A CENTENNIAL JAMBOREE

Lincoln Heritage, Blue Grass and Shawnee Trails Centennial Jamboree
OCTOBER 15-17, 2010 | E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park

Sponsored by:

LOCAL CENTENNIAL JAMBOREE – GROWING TO EPIC PROPORTIONS WITH ADDITIONAL COUNCILS AND MORTENSON FAMILY DENTAL AS A MAJOR SPONSOR

The Lincoln Heritage Council is proud to announce that the Blue Grass Council (Headquartered in Lexington) and the Shawnee Trails Council (Headquartered in Owensboro) is joining forces with our local council for the Centennial Jamboree scheduled for October 15th – 17th at E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park. We now have all 3 Scouting Council’s covering Kentucky and parts of Indiana, Illinois and Tennessee, involved to bring our Scouting Resources together to make the best and most unique event possible to commemorate Scouting’s 100th Anniversary. This event is growing to epic proportions and will undoubtedly be the largest Scouting event and encampment that many of our Scouts will ever experience.

We are also proud to announce Mortenson Family Dental has come on board as a major sponsor for the event, and we are very excited about and their willingness to get involved and support our celebration of 100 years of Scouting!!

E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park continues to be very cooperative with us in our planning of the event and is giving us full reign of their facility. We would like to extend a thank you to Chris Head, Park Manager, and his entire staff.

The goal for this event is to serve as a commemorative celebration of Scouting’s past and our exciting future. We are anticipating over 12,000 local Scouts and families to be a part of this historic event.  We are going to have activities that will inspire and challenge our Scouts. We will have the opportunity for all of our Cubs, Boy Scouts, Venturers, and Explorers to take part in activities and work towards their advancements. The committee is well underway in planning this exciting event with the goal of everyone experiencing an event like no other the Lincoln Heritage Council has ever held – and they are off to a great start.

Please check out our website www.lhcbsa.org for additional information, registration forms, and for many more updates in the near future.
