Internet Advancement

Units can use Internet Advancement to record their youth member advancements online. You will find this new method to be easy, convenient, and accurate because you enter the information, and it will save you the effort of hand writing advancements onto a three-part carbon form. Use Internet Advancement for adding ranks, merit badges and awards. and to update information on existing advancements (except the Eagle Scout rank).

Please Note: Internet Advancement & Online Recharter will be unavailable the following days for system maintenance: 9:00 pm CST on Saturday thru 6:00 pm CST on Sunday

Here’s how it works

Each unit selects one person who will have the log in information and be authorized to do advancement reporting for the unit. To request your Unit ID number to access Internet Advancement, please contact the council registrar at 503-361-2624 or e-mail kathyrn.lynn@scouting.org

Things you will need:

Unit ID #: If you do not have this, use the link on the right "Forgot Your Unit ID Number" and you can send an email to get your number.

Advancement Records: To enter in once you get into the system.

Printer Access: So that you can print your Advancement Update Summary.

System Requirements: Explorer 5.5 or higher, 56K or faster Internet connection and Adobe Reader Process ranks and awards for packs, troops, teams, crews, ships, and posts.Units can now submit advancement for unit youth members online.
 

                                                                                   


To use Internet Advancement:

1. Select the unit advancement processor. This person must have Internet connectivity and Microsoft Internet Explorer.
2. Obtain a unit ID code from the council. The unit advancement processor attends a future roundtable, and can obtain the unit ID code there.
3. Gather information for advancement, including merit badge applications and advancement records with dates.
4. Click Internet Advancement on this page. Follow the instructions in Internet Advancement to process advancements and print an advancement report.
5. Have the appropriate people sign the printed unit advancement report and submit it to the council. Save a copy for your files.

Units should submit monthly before the end of each month, or more often if needed. In December, submit a report before the end of the month to update unit and council statistics.
